What are the best things about art fairs

I have only done two. The best thing besides selling? Meeting new friends!


Best show ever and why

Of only 2 shows, the better one was indoors, in a smaller community (very congenial), and interested people.


Worst show ever and why

Of only 2 shows, the bad one was indoors, in a large venue, I had been placed in a back (large) room out of the flow of traffic, and only sold one item in 2 days.

Just scrolling through looking for new and used canopies, panels, etc. for getting started on outdoor art fairs.


What is one fun fact about yourself?

I am retiring in 2 weeks from education (school psychologist).

    Hey Stephen,

    Did your other two shows go better for you?

    I just did my first show at Stone Harbor (outside) and barely paid my booth fee.  Very disappointing.  I am a jeweler and wondering if the internet sites are hurting art fairs in general.

The site is only as good as the members make it.  We have a lot to offer one another, experienced and newbie alike.

    • Please stop by the "Discussions" area to introduce yourself. Then read the "Getting Started" for tips to make the site easier to navigate.
    • Many topics have already been discussed. We suggest you try a search of your topic before you post your question. Click the SEARCH tab at the top of the page and “search” for your topic: tents, jury fees, Ann Arbor Art Fair, the name of a show, etc. You might find that someone has already asked and answered your question.
