What are the best things about art fairs

1. Sales! People at art fairs are there to shop and seem to appreciate artists and the time and effort we put into our items. 2. Meeting all of the nice vendors. Being a self-employed jewelry artist, I love to get out and talk to fellow vendors.

Best show ever and why

The Greens Show in Salem, Oregon. I've done it for seven years and it has always been my best show of the year. There is a crowd at the door waiting to get in each day. A lot of the customers wear their holiday outfits and are definitely in the mood to buy. It's put on by a lovely group of local volunteers. They've been doing it for about 30 yeras and they have it down to a science.

Worst show ever and why

The Portland (Oregon) Women's Show two years ago. Oh, my goodness -- there were hardly any customers at all, and we had all paid about $700 for the booth fee. A large percentage of vendors didn't come close to covering their costs.
