What are the best things about art fairs
The best things are exposure, financial admiration, travelling and meeting new interesting people,
Best show ever and why
The best show was my first show though I've only done three shows my first show, a 10 day fall festival allowed me learn much in a very short time. I didn't know what I was getting in to taking on Indiana's biggest longest yearly festival by myself. Even though I was over my head I learned much of what not to do as well this festival enlightened my outlook to possibilities unbeknownst to me.
Worst show ever and why
My worst show was an impromptu hodge podge of 2-D & 3-D work gathered as I moved across country along with a new relationship. A weekend I spent getting to know my significant other turned into 48 hours discovering my new life mate was an extreme alcoholic. I spent the entire time in horror, babysitting a 22 year old binge drinker. It was an awakening to how out of control one can allow oneself to get under the influence of a ones weakness. Though the festival would've been a wash out anyway due to the patron/art chemistry; I would've probably made enough money for 2 gas fill-ups for the move to (at the time)was a destination unknown. BTW, that relationship lasted less than a year. On a brighter note, it brought me to live in the heart of Key West, FLA sustaining a living as a henna tattoo artist / hair wraps.
