What are the best things about art fairs

People I meet Excitement in seeing others enjoy my items Learning from others Friendships

Best show ever and why

Cayuga because I met some wonderful people, had a great inventory that sold well. Extremely organized, well attended, great space - organizers were helpful and just so very wonderful!

Worst show ever and why

Won't mention name but was not well attended, not as advertised, small spaces - people unfriendly - was juried but had booths filled with commercially made items.

  • The Strawberry Festival in Melbourne, FL, is March 17-18.  It is sponsored by Habitat for Humanity.  www.brevardhabitat.com, 321-728-4009.

  • Hi, Pat.  Sorry I didn't reply right away.  I have this pesky job that gets in the way of doing what I really love!  Due to work commitments, I only did one show this month.  Most of my activity was in the fall months, but I hope that next year is a different story.  I am just starting to apply for large out-of-town shows.  Other than small local shows, I have done the Strawberry Festival in Melbourne, FL, and Mount Dora in Mount Dora, FL.  I just posted a review of Mt Dora, so it should be published soon.  I am planning to do that one next year.

  • Hi, Pat.  I'm new, too, so it is nice to connect!  Your profile comments are interestng and helpful.  I know you are reluctant to mention names in your "worst show ever" question, but it would be helpful to everyone if we knew which show to avoid!

  • Thanks! I am still learning this computer posting and typing info messages and hopew I get it correct. Good to be here!

Many topics have already been discussed here before you joined us.  You might like to try a search of your topic before you post your question.  Just put your topic, canopy tents, jurying fees, Ann Arbor Art Fair, etc, into the search bar at the top of the right side of the page.  You might be surprised that someone has already asked your question.
