What are the best things about art fairs
Direct contact with the buying public = great market research. Enjoy networking w/ other artisans as well.
Best show ever and why
Princeton YWCA Crafter's Marketplace 2009 Highly educated buyers purchasing multiple items for the holidays. Buyers seemed genuinely interested in the creative process, and were not comparing one's work and price point to what's currently on offer at Target. Very refreshing! Great town - fantastic local coffee place.
Worst show ever and why
Showtiques in Manhassett Bay, NY Horrible location, buyers wanted flea market prices and refused to believe that anyone would actually design, print and sew something in this country. 90% of buyers flat out refused to pay NY State Sales Tax, all haggled over price.
