First show ever

art plus in Chicago

What are the best things about art fairs

meeting people from around the country.selling our products to people who appreciate our work.

Best show ever and why

new buffalo ,Michigan when it was a fine art show.we haven't done it for several years because it has gone down hill.

Worst show ever and why

Schaumburg art festival this past week-end.applied for several years until we were juried in.it was supposed to be a great show in a great suburb of Chicago.instead it turned into a wal-mart crowd that only bought cheaper products and very few of us had fine art quality items that were not being bought by anyone.we were out of place.

  • Hi Nancy,  Well, I'm in the same boat...I make hand knit / felted hats and handbags and although I didn't have difficulty finding a market for them initially, lately it's been more of a struggle.  I sell primarily at galleries and gift shops right now but have applied to a big Holiday craft show here in Detroit in December and will see how that goes, it'll be my first real art show if I get in...still waiting to hear.  I just moved to an area where there are plenty of art fairs and shows, I just need to make the commitment and get out there...hope you find some shows in your area, keep me posted and good luck.

Just put your topic, canopy tents, jurying fees, Ann Arbor Art Fair, etc, into the search bar at the top of the right side of the page. You might be surprised that someone has already asked your question.

We also ask that all new members take a few moments of their time to read the code of conduct. You will find it at http://www.artfairinsiders.com/page/code-of-conduct.
