What are the best things about art fairs

The appreciation and fostering of creativity and ejoyment of life.

Best show ever and why

I did an art show in Cedar Falls called artapalooza as an emerging artist and sold almost all of the pottery I had. It was a combination of new material and other class projects. I had a great time meeting other artists and interacting with potential customers. I love the personability of it almost more than making the sales. Is that bad? haha It showed me what an art show could be.

Worst show ever and why

I have only been in two shows, I know not much, but this one I did not sell more than a piece. A lady literally sold out of the back of her car, priced everything under forty bucks ( All items were old class demonstration paintings) and pretended to paint more while customers were buying to spark conversation. I am not against doing demos I think they are cool, she was not demo-ing. I don't think any other people near me sold pieces either. Maybe a few booths down the way sold a few but I know everyone had rough sales. I am not going to lower my prices just because a lady is getting rid of her less expensive class demo paintings.
