What are the best things about art fairs

Selling my art and talking about it as I do that!

Best show ever and why

Krasl on the Bluffs, St. Joseph, Michigan. Sara and her crew run the best "art" ship ever! I have been blessed to have been in this show for 5 years. The volunteers, the food, the unload and load up are a breeze, the weather...I can't say enough about how well the artists are taken care of there. Because of their tight entry process and on sight judging there is very little to worry about with outside artists showing up with not neccessarily the work that the jury may have seen at jury/entry time. Last year we needed some help because of an outside problem and the volunteer team and police and EMS were on the spot. I have great repeat customers and many new artist friends because of Krasl. A big shout out to Sara & Amber!! PS: Sorry I missed you Connie! I was making one of those great sales you were talking about when you visited my booth!

Worst show ever and why

I have a couple but here is my worst: Day in the Park, Kettering , Ohio. For 3 years I did that show with people milling around and talking about my "great work" for extended periods of time and coming back several times but there is not much purchasing of the art. Have met some fantastic people down there in the Dayton area but can't seem to get people to budge on my art. Some artists do ok and I know a few did good but I and many others did nothing. I love this venue... beautiful park area, gazing ponds and smooth jazz in the background...maybe too calm!! If I could not stay at my Mother-in-Laws home I would have not tried the 3rd year. Gave up this year! Sigh....
