What are the best things about art fairs

The community of other vendors -- at this point, I know so many of the folks in the southwest circuit of shows it is like old home week at each show. When you work alone, it is great to have that kind of contact.

Best show ever and why

Santa Fe Recycled Art Show is my favorite -- it is fairly small and very well juried...all the art is green and ranges from small and simple to big and very expensive. All that and chili rellenos too!!!

Worst show ever and why

The most difficult show we ever did was the Capitol Hill People's Fair in Denver....for sooo many reasons. For starters, we got hit twice by 80mph micro bursts that sent our silk garments flying across the park and onto the greasy, grimy street, damaging our tent badly. We felt strongly that the level of support and response offered by the organizers of the festival was sadly lacking but we were heartened by the wonderful fair goers who helped us tremendously. The load in and load out is a nightmare with a circuit of one way streets that stretches for many blocks to navigate...took a long time and the final indignity was when the sprinkler came on in the park before we had our sadly abused inventory in the truck. Over all, a very, very bad experience.
