Direct contact with the people interested in my pottery, and being able to share my clay story with them.
Best show ever and why
So many to choose from, but... maybe St James Court from 1994-2004. Great people, great friends, great after show party. Maybe the best Ann Arbor I ever had -- late '90s. We stayed over for Sunday and then ran 5 miles to the show site (and back) and did a little Rocky victory dance over our empty space.
Worst show ever and why
I block them out! ...okay, maybe it was when my booth was blown over at Crosby Gardens one year. Or maybe it was running a fever of 102 for the entire drive south, the three days of show, and the long drive back from Bayou City a couple of years ago.
