Dec 6th 2008 Small Christmas show in my old home town of Erin Tennessee
What are the best things about art fairs
Meeting people from all over. Making money is good but making new friends, contacts, and networks is far better in the long run.
Best show ever and why
March 20th 2010, Irish Day Parade in Erin Tennessee. My old home town's annual Irish celebration is normally a crowd pleaser but the craft side of it has always suffered a little. Once the entertainment was over the crowds would leave and the kids would run to the carnival. This year was different. Erin had just the week before finished a beautification project downtown. Many people stayed for several extra hours. I didn't tear down for 2 hours after we were allowed to.
Worst show ever and why
Reelfoot's huge arts and craft fair. Mostly due to bad weather all weekend but the show is lowering it's standards and allowing more and more B/S in it and flea market items. 1 person was selling socks. not crafted ones . white ones from a store shelf. I would be willing to do again due to it being so close and has an average of 50k people come to see it every year, but I may look for another instead.
