What are the best things about art fairs
The camaraderie of the artists is the best thing. Every new fair encourages me to think outside the box a little more.
Best show ever and why
The best show I ever did was The Eastown Bizarre Bizarre. A fellow artist challenged me to create art hats, really crazy pieces that were functional. I had two weeks to add them to my wares. I made one hat a day and really got into it. During the fair a shop owner came by and bought them all and placed orders for more. It was challenging, crazy fun, and memorable.
Worst show ever and why
I was at a fair this past summer and the weather was miserable. Exceedingly hot and humid, then the wind kicked up, buckets of unexpected rain hit us and the temperature dropped. We were all freezing and gathering our windblown art by the end of that day. Sales were horrible, too.
