First show ever

Before we did art fairs full time, we did a street fair called Halsted Streat Market Days in Chicago - what a shocker!! Our first real art fair was the Bucktown Art Fair, also in Chicago and also before we started doing art fairs full time.

What are the best things about art fairs

Meeting the end user of your art face to face and talking to them about the process - taking the money for all your hard work is not too shaby either.

Best show ever and why

The 5th Ave. Naples Art Fair because it was the first time we were so busy we ran out of bags, business cards, and wrapping papper on the first day. It was the first time we both felt we were on the right track - that is what we are all looking for no matter what we are doing.

Worst show ever and why

The Wells Street Art Fiar - the first time we decided to do a double booth - A micro burst type storm lifted the promoter's tent up in the air and dropped it down on our tent smashing the tent, crushing the pro pannels and lots of potter packed boxes. We had nothing to show the second day so we cleaned up our site and left. We learned that we got first in clay but received no award, no check, - total loss, the promotor would not take any responsibility for the loss
