What are the best things about art fairs

Meeting the people, both casual lookers and serious buyers. All of them help me dictate what works, what they love and what they are willing to purchase. I also love to meet other vendors.....like an instant village where everyone has the same goals.

Best show ever and why

Hmmmm, I have had many best shows thankfully, especially prior to 2007. I would say the Shad Festival in New Hope NJ, the earlier Vermont Hand Crafters shows and oddly enough, a small local art group here in Northern Vermont, the Burklyn Arts Council.

Worst show ever and why

Anything, years ago by Mike and Pat, and any show in Stowe Vermont.

Who referred you to ArtFairInsiders.com? Please be specific.

Have gotten news from them for years. Do not recall, laughing....age!

What is one fun fact about yourself?

I live in a small village of 120 people (large, dysfunctional family) and own a general store, post office and undertaker parlor building. Makes for a great living environment and studio!

When you have a chance, please add a photo of yourself and stop by the "Discussions" area to introduce yourself to the rest of us. Visit the "member map" and add your location.

Many topics have already been discussed. We suggest you try a search of your topic before you post your question. Click the SEARCH tab at the top of the page and “search” for your topic: tents, jury fees, Ann Arbor Art Fair, the name of a show, etc. You might be surprised that someone has already asked your question.

We also ask all new members to take a few moments to read our code of conduct. Here it is, under the Discussions tab. These are the guidelines that all members need to follow to keep the community useful and helpful to all.

Each of us is unique and has a gift to share that can help someone else. We all look forward to your sharing on ArtFairInsiders.com.

    Best wishes, Connie Mettler

p.s. The best way to make this system easy to use is to click on the "Follow-Email me" link at the bottom of each Forum discussion that interests you. That way the system will email you automatically whenever anyone responds. It's a great time-saver.

  • Donna, welcome to AFI!  I love your fun fact and how you describe your village...btw, is there an idiot?  Your work is amazing, I can see why you've been successful, congratulations!  I love that you live and work in a former general store, post office, funeral parlor...so cool, I'm envious.  My husband and I love old buildings and in fact, recently sold our 1900 Queen Anne Victorian and moved back to the city to be close to our new grandchildren.

Thanks for joining us and please take advantage of all the information to be had here...best wishes for continued success.
