First show ever
first ever was a sidewalk thing in the little village i lived in at the time. no fee, I had no idea what I was doing. First kind of real show was Indie Garage Sale in Utica. A holiday show and I was terrified!
What are the best things about art fairs
The interaction with people who "get" what you are doing. The instant gratification if you will...
Best show ever and why
Financially, Lafayette Apple Festival last year. Overall, Sauquoit Arts & Crafts Festival. I swore off school PTO shows for a while. I just didn't think it was where I wanted to be. This one is different. Great sales, great crowds, shoppers interested in finding something different, organizationally the best show I do, volunteers are fantastic and there are a ton of them. The volunteers have a vested interest because this show pays for all field trips for the district and most of the art program. They want it to work and they work hard to make sure the artists are happy.
Worst show ever and why
Lilac Festival in Rochester last year. I have friends that have successfully done this show for years but for me it was awful in every way. Way to carnival-ish, I did not make expenses, load out was chaos, police yelling at me. I left in tears... Never. again. ever!

Hello BonNette,
Welcome and what a lovely and unusual name you have! We're so excited to have you joining us here and hope you'll take a look around and make yourself at home. I, too, make eggplant parmesan and tiramisu...two of my favorites! Thanks and continued success.
