What are the best things about art fairs

I like the reaction I get from people seeing my art. I enjoy when a little child knows that an old rusty garden tool has turned into an animal.

Best show ever and why

Portside Art Fair in East Jordan, Michigan. One of the judges saw my art at the Fulton Street Artist Market here in Grand Rapids and juried me in on the spot and ask me to attend. It was my first true juried fine art show and I won an honerable mention.

Worst show ever and why

Riverbank Art Fair Iowa City Iowa 2009 Wow anything that could be wrong or bad happened with this show. I sent in my application in Jan. and didn't hear anything from the organizers until 3 week prior to the show in May. The show is run by the student art guild and it was obvious that there weren't any business majors involved. The show was on a 10 acre field and they had measured out 10 by 10 spots with not one inch more for vendors to st up their spots. The application said we could drive close to our spot and the kid at the registration desk wouldn't allow it so I had to lug my metal sculpture to my site. AND the customers had metered parking with campus cops handing out parking tickets.
