Without a doubt - connecting with fans on a personal level.
Best show ever and why
Athena Festival - Really enjoyed all the people we met, inspired us to do more, to find more shows aimed at that particular audience. They were delighted with both the art and the books.
Worst show ever and why
A convention in Washington State - but I didn't even go. Their organization structure collapsed, advertising didn't happen, no hotel availability for invited guests - a total nightmare. I sacrificed the cost of my booth, but they invited us to bail out, given that they expected less than 100 guests. So I didn't go - but I learned a lot about researching shows, making sure they've been around a while, have a good reputation, etc. For the cost of a booth, it was a cheap lesson.
