What are the best things about art fairs

Despite the ups and downs inherent in doing art fairs, the potential for amazing things to happen is addictive!

Best show ever and why

Main Street Fort Worth Art Festival. Why? It had everything you could ask for -- well organized, good looking art, crowds + buyers, artist amenities. The model for a great show!

Worst show ever and why

Any show during the spring/summer of 2008 would qualify. Nothing to do with the promoters - everything to do with the economy.

  • Congrats on being awarded the Post of the Week - 11/2/2015
  • Nice discussion, Diana. Thanks for posting about the Artisan Markets ... Thank you. Hope we can get some traction for it. Best to you.
  • Happy birthday Diana,
This is Valarie from Kona silk. Yes, I am looking for some one to write a short story about my 20 plus years on the road as a fiber artists. I have moved here to Hawaii to fulfill a life long dream of helping support the preservation of the Hawaiian turtle. I paint turtle pictures to sell on the island to raise money for education center.
I'm looking for this story to be written three ways.
As a short one or two paragraph for an artists statement to be added to bags.
As a full story to be emailed to the hundreds of promoters I have worked with. Omaha summer of the arts, prairie village and rio grande and Denver fine art will run these in the local paper in the art section during the shows.

this story will run in all our Hawaii west newspaper but, mainly in Keola, our Hawaiian life magazine. My partner can take pictures to be added.

What do u think and about how much does this cost? I feel it's a good opportunity to get your work published from coast to coast.

    Aloha
    Mahalo for your time
