Sonja Jones commented on Connie Mettler's blog post Next Podcast: Etsy? Is it a Fit for Your Art?
"I wasn't able to join the podcast, but I've had an Etsy shop since 2015.  I'm a watercolor and acrylic artist, and I offer both originals and prints off my Etsy site, as well as custom commissioned paintings.  My sales had…"

Sonja Jones replied to Chris Umhoefer's discussion Does anyone make significant sales online, and if so, how and where?
"I am a watercolor and acrylic artist, and I've had some limited success selling through Etsy.  But sales for the year are only equal to one really good show.  And most of what sells from my Etsy shop are request for custom…"

Sonja Jones commented on Reid Watts's blog post Are any art fairs still being held?
"Yeah, I don't know about any current shows actually going on, but one I'm scheduled for at the end of June, the Boston Mills show in Peninsula, OH, is taking a wait and see stance.  If the show ends up getting cancelled, artist can…"

"Sonja, this is a fair report on the WITAN show, but it looks like you were talking mostly to other first-timers. This show was my 3rd year there and I know some of the other regulars. Sales were indeed down, mine 50% from previous years; this show…"

First show ever
Gingerbread House Art and Craft Show was my first show of any kind. My first real art show, though, was Boston Mills.

What are the best things about art fairs
Validation of my artwork.
Best show ever and why
Boston Mills was my best show to date, but I am just getting started. But this show was the largest venue I've showed in to date, and I was able to make a profit despite lousy weather.
Worst show ever and why
The Chagrin Falls Avant-garde show was my worst. The booth fee was high for me at the time, and I didn't sell a single item. Bad weather kept the crowd size down, but I don't know if I would've done better even so.
