How to extend the height further on a 10x10 popup?

Started this discussion. Last reply by Robert Wallis Jun 3. 4 Replies

I'm looking to put extenders on the legs of my Eurmax 10x10 premium pop. They don't sell leg extenders, but I've seen a lot of artists add these to their tents. I'm not sure if they were homemade or…Continue

Best way to build out wood shelves in a cargo van?

Started this discussion. Last reply by Ryan Rabbass Feb 24. 2 Replies

Looking for advice/pictures on how to build wood shelves onto the inside of a bare cargo van with metal sides. I was thinking just 2x4s and chicken wire would do the trick. The only thing I need to…Continue

I realize this is a pretty general question and hard to judge as it's based on per show, but overall I've heard landscapes sell better than anything. I wasn't sure if that is nature, or cityscapes.…Continue

Robert Wallis replied to Ryan Rabbass's discussion How to extend the height further on a 10x10 popup?
"Is it the one with the hex legs or square legs? I did see where some used the legs from another similar tent turned upside down to fit the bottom legs of their Eurmax. I have extender legs legs for a couple of my EZ-Ups, but seldom use them and they…"

Sheryl Ball replied to Ryan Rabbass's discussion How to extend the height further on a 10x10 popup?
"Hi Ryan, I am a bit off topic but since you mentioned the Eurmax I wanted to ask about your experience with it.  Costco is selling them and it would be for my first show.  Any feedback?"

Ryan Rabbass replied to Ryan Rabbass's discussion Best way to build out wood shelves in a cargo van?
"Thanks, good link resources there! You're right, I've decided against the chicken wire. Pic attached of my progress so far. Plan from here is crossbars, then I'll do plywood for the shelf floor and sides. I call them shelves but…"

David J Teter replied to Ryan Rabbass's discussion Best way to build out wood shelves in a cargo van?
"2x4's and chicken wire sounds like a bad idea. Google 'cargo van built in shelving' and you'll see plenty of examples from DIYers building from scratch or adapting existing shelving. Buying shelving from companies who specialize…"

"Thanks yes I think that would work. Would probably need to weld on the top/bottom, and good to go. then just figure out a way to fix the tent to it. match up the holes maybe and have bolts and nuts "

What painting subjects sell best at art show?

I realize this is a pretty general question and hard to judge as it's based on per show, but overall I've heard landscapes sell better than anything. I wasn't sure if that is nature, or cityscapes. Additionally, a lot of artist have told me that switching to abstract increased their sales. I paint in acrylic/oil, and in general do fantasy landscapes, but am open to any new subjects that will help all this art show work pay off bigger! Thanks See More

What are the best things about art fairs
When people love your art, they buy full price. They're happy, you're happy. Everyone walks away with a smile on their face. Also, just hanging out at nice shows, nice weather in nature with other artist friends.
Best show ever and why
St George Fine Arts Festival - I got a lot of comments that my work was different than what was around there, so I sold double what I've ever sold anywhere else. Also easy and close to my hometown.
Worst show ever and why
Hard to say, any show that I have to drive 4+ hours each way and barely cut a profit. Sometimes not in the best parts of town.

What is one fun fact about yourself?
I am an artist who does a good amount of shows yearly, but I also have multiple other businesses where I work on the computer. The shows are a nice way to get off the computer!
