Quick, don’t think to hard... What would you do with $500 or $600 in your pocket, a free weekend and the directive to spend every dime of it before sundown on Sunday night? How would you choose to…Continue

Great neighborhood festival, skip it as a fine art venue. Apparently, Custer St. Fair used to be known as a quality fine art venue, not any more. I was easily the highest quality fine artist in…Continue

What are the best things about art fairs
I love interacting with the visitors. Second best thing...meeting all the other artists, seeing what their art and passion is AND bartering with other artists for wonderful handmade goods.
Best show ever and why
Lakeshore Art Festival in Muskegon, MI.
It's a somewhat depressed area, BUT, the residents are very hard working folk who save their money and look forward to the show every year. It's the same weekend around the 4th of July, folks make plans to meet friends and family at the event. I love the people and the friends I've made at the show.
Worst show ever and why
After 8 years there are SO many horrible shows - for me and my stuff. Shows in super conservative towns are REALLY bad for me. I need a population that's fun, spunky engaged and lively.
Who referred you to Please be specific.
Found the site online through digging around. Finally clicked a link posted at the bottom of the Call for Artists the the Krasel Art show in St. Joseph, MI.
What is one fun fact about yourself?
I am brave.

The Horror!

Cackling and horrified, I untied the loose knots holding up curtain backdrop as quickly as I was able. Thankfully and blissfully, the curtains dropped to the ground. I clipped the curtains shut and hung as much weight on the bottom of the curtains as I dared.

Giddy laughter would not stop bubbling from my lips. Again and again I looked in disbelief at the photo I had just snapped of my booth. I could not have set up, framed or imagined a more perfectly horrible image of my…

I started my photography business in 2008.  Shortly after starting my business I started shooting alphabet letters of architecture and other objects found in urban settings.  These letters can be used to spell words, or names to make contemporary art for you home.  This project took off, and became an overwhelming success.  I used the money from selling my alphabet letters to fund my photography business.  These letters are fantastic sellers and I’m thankfully too busy with my real passion to have time to sell them anymore.  So I’ve decided to sell the high resolution digital files for a fair price to the right person who is interested in making an abundance of extra income.  This idea will be unique to you, and if you're driven will make you lots of money.  The market is enormous!  If you’re interested and would like to discuss things further please contact me and please check out our alphabet photography click on “client” menu and enter the password “abc”.  We have b&w and color alphabets, and I’ve also custom created numerous word art pieces with quotes.  You’d receive everything with unlimited reproduction rights.  The letters can be put on anything you can think of or you can sell them just as letters to go in frames.  I always just sold them as letters for $5 per letter.  The profit margin is very high as it costs about 10-20 cents to print each letter and they sell for $5 each.  I look forward to hearing from you.

Lynda- There's nothing better than 'warm' regards from a fellow artist! I am honored to be your very first friend on Art Fair Insiders, you are a very interactive voice I can tell!  There's nothing better than having someone say "I agree" or "You're right" or "I understand"...and MEAN IT!  I, too, hope we meet often here!  And one of these days I'll book a show in your neighborhood and we can meet on your turf!

Thank you for adding to a very productive day...May you have your share, too!

Thanks Lynda!

LOVE your work too! Wonderful spaces, shapes and light.

Good luck with your tent decision. I have been struggling with slowly building up my display to a professional level and am faced with some big expenses this year in doing so.  Its a challenging life to be an artist but I love it!

Yes, long time. I really hope you are enjoying the art show circuit as a painter. How is it going?? I don't usually post or look here but I should! It has really useful info. My show schedule is packed this year and I am both eager and anxious. I have a few shows that are quite a drive and you never know if they will be worth it finacially.
