I have used my ipad but I find that my cell phone works great so I tend to use that more.

I picked up an LG 7" tablet freebie from AT&T with the only cost an extra $10 for the additional phone line on my contract. Not having to be tied to a wifi is really nice.

I use an I-Pad mini. You can buy them outright, but they'll run you about $500.  I've seen people using the android tablets as well.  Those tend to be a little cheaper. Check with you cell phone provider. Sometimes they offer the android mini pads free with an upgrade on your phone. I got my I-Pad mini for $90 when I upgraded to a 6S phone from a 4S.

I'm pretty happy with my I-Pad but my P.C. is also an Apple so I'm used to it...anxious to hear what others think.
