How Do You Relax Off Season

I'm off for two weeks taking a road trip to Reno, NV camping and visiting hot springs to and fro. This was Spencer's Hot Spring: 105 degrees in stock tank in Big Smokey Valley, east of Austin, NV. It's just about in the middle of NV.  We spent all yesterday morning on dirt roads south of US 50 and the Suburban looks not quite like it has been to Burning Man LOL.

Tubac, AZ: Tubac Fall Arts & Crafts Festival, Nov, 3,4,5, 2017

I got a postcard from subject show today with an extended deadline (red flag IMO).  I did the February show in 2011 and was curious if anyone has done this one. I think it has been around only a few years since 2014(?). There is my review and additional comments about Tubac Feb show on this site.

Art in the Park, Steamboat Springs, CO; July 8-9, 2017, Review

General

I hope the analysis in this review will be helpful to artists new to the business.  This was the 43rd annual Art in the Park.  Steamboat Springs is better known as a ski destination and a number of Olympic skiers call it home.  During the summer, river activities, cycling, hiking and golf are popular resort activities.  A lot of wealthy people have summer homes in Steamboat Springs, and many own horses.  Access to Steamboat Springs is by I70 and US40 from Denver,…

Estes Park Arts and Craft Show, September 2016, Estes Park, Colorado

Estes Park is the gateway to the east side of Rocky Mountain Park.  There are many summer homes in the area and it is a destination for a broad spectrum of nationalities, income levels, and interests.  I started doing this show in 2010, and I have done it every year since then.  I also do the Memorial Day show in Estes Park.   The show is produced by the Estes Valley Sunrise Rotary, Inc. and they do an all-around EXCELLENT job!!!!  The town is packed for the weekend, and leading up to the…

There are two summer Art Fair Jackson Hole shows.  One is in July and the other is in August (8/12-14/2016).  Both are produced by the Art Association of Jackson Hole, WY. This review is for the July 8-10, 2016 show, but I would expect similar data for the August show.  This show was established in 1965 and this year was its 50th anniversary.

APPLICATION AND SHOW SETTING

You apply to this event on Zapp.  The jury fee is $35 and a 10X10 booth space is $395.  The…

Damaged Chip Card

A fellow at Jackson gave me a chip card and we found a small piece of the chip had come off. It messed up my reader and I had to reboot it. The card would not swipe because it had a chip. The solution was enter card data manually. I am using Clover Go reader from First Data.

SATURDAY VS. SUNDAY SALES AT ART SHOWS

Another thread posed this question. After a tiring workout this morning and about three hours on quarterly accounting, I'm too beat to work in the studio. So I'm loafing with my iPad. Interesting topic. I've seen it go both ways at Colorado resort areas. Monday after a 3- day show is usually slow. But, 2 or 3 days, the last day is usually 1-2 hours shorter for take down. To be accurate, you would need to compare sales/hour for Saturday vs. Sunday.
