Call for Artists, Making Money at Juried Art Fairs, Craft Shows and Festivals
We just finished another first time show sort of. I have done Las Olas Part 1 and part 2 but never the part 3 in October. I had heard the Las Olas in October was not as strong as the ones in January and March but this was our best Las Olas to date. True the crowds are not as big but there are still a ton of people who attend the show, (see…Continue

It’s been awhile since I have shared a review. I got tired of reviewing the same shows every year so decided to keep the reviews to new shows. Bethesda Row Arts Festival was October 13-14. Bethesda is a city just outside of DC. This is a very wealthy part of DC. The show takes place on the streets of a high-end…Continue
We just returned home from an amazing week in South East Florida. We attended the Zapp Conference in Deerfield Beach/Boca Raton and showed at Coconut Grove Art Festival.
First the Zapp Conference. Connie has…Continue
St Armands Circle Art Festival is the last weekend of January. There is another one I believe in November but this review is about the January show. This was our first time at this show, first time in Sarasota and our first show of the year. What a beautiful area. The show is in the park at St Armands Circle. This is a roundabout surrounded by boutiques and…Continue
Turtle Creek Arts Festival in Dallas Texas is the second weekend of November. This was the inaugural show. The show takes place in Reverchon Park next to Katy trail. Turtle Creek is a very high end area of Dallas, in the middle of the city. Many artists won’t do a first year show but I have had success with new shows when they are in the right area. …Continue
We are driving from Houston as I write this on our way to New Orleans to enjoy some good food and drinks after finishing up two Texas shows. The Houston show was this past weekend. It was very impressive that the organizers and the city were able to not only go on with the show but to do it up to the standards of past events. If you didn’t know about Harvey you never would…Continue
This was our first time showing at Cottonwood. The show is in a park surrounded by modest middle class homes and community. Richardson is a suburb of Dallas. We usually don’t do suburban shows especially in a park but Cottonwood has a great reputation and many well established artist do this show both in fall and in spring and continue to return year after year. Cottonwood lined up perfectly with Houston so we decided it was time to try the show.…
This review will consist of images, links and a few words. I believe this is my 6th show here. I have reviewed it many times, see a few links below, making it easy for ya. Tons of details. If you want more info it's easy to go to link…Continue

Just got back home from doing the Port Clinton Show. This was our first time here and what an event. It is run by Amdur Productions. This was our first Amdur show. They put on a lot of the Chicago area shows and this was by far our…
I am sure Nels will be writing a review as well and I am looking forward to it. Nels experience at a show and mine are very different. We have completely different markets and patrons. Nels price points are around $50-$500 and ours start at $2200. But from what I have heard it sounds like we landed in about the same place.
DMAF is held in the streets of downtown Des Moines around the sculpture park. This was our first year doing this show and hopefully not our last. I had heard…
57th Street Art Fair is held the first week of June. This was our first year at the show. I have a love affair with Chicago but I was not familiar with Hyde Park area of Chicago except for the Science and Industry museum and University of Chicago. It is a wonderful area and a great place to explore if you have some time. Other AFI members exhibited at the…Continue
Northern Virginia Fine Art Festival is the third weekend of May. This was the third year we have done this show. I have written two other reviews . If you want more info see past reviews and hopefully we get some other artists to add to this review for other insight.
The show is on the streets at Town Center in Reston VA with middle to high end…Continue
Coconut Grove 2017. Here is a review on todays Coconut Grove. Barry gave us a good blog on what the Grove use to be. I only know todays Grove so here it goes.

I haven't posted in awhile. I have been busy so figured I would limit my posts to new shows for me. This past week I attended the Zapp Art Festival Conference in Houston and showed at Bayou City Arts Festival Downtown in…Continue
Little late on this review but here it is. There was a great review done on AFI for this show a few years ago. Here is an update. This was the first time showing in Madison. It is a big show, over 400 artist I believe. …Continue
So there is a large group of artists who break down really fast and get the heck out of a show. I am part of this group. I usually post my out time after a show to let people know about the logistics. Off the written record the group of fast break down artists compete with each other:). Just another fun thing we do. Honestly it gets stressful and takes strategical planning. It is awesome to get the heck out and get on the road and/or get back to home or hotel for a cocktail.
First time I have done this show. I have been hesitant to do it because of all the challenges but decided this year I was ready to take it on. We went in with a great attitude. We were ready for the wind, heat, sun, rain, and…Continue
Just finished the Hinsdale art festival. This was my second year showing. Here is a link to last years review if you are looking for more info. We are on the road to Virginia Beach and I am writing this in the car on the iPad so this will be a shorter review.…
Just got back from Northern Virginia Fine Art Festival in Reston. It was a cold and wet weekend. We had the fun of drying everything, and I mean everything, out today now that we are back. Luckily it is warm and sunny in Atlanta.Continue
