"It's Getting Hot In Here"

In this summer of extreme heat, I was wondering how many of us have gone down in heatstroke over the years. It's been a challenge to stay cool this Summer and it doesn't look like it's going to stop anytime soon. I was in Des Moines where the heat index got to 111 degrees that weekend, and man, it was a challenge. I have a "frosty' cooler that I swear by. It's the Amazon cheaper version of the Yeti and it kept me hydrated and I have Ryobi fans also, but sometimes it's not enough. I have heard…See More

I was young- green and it was such a high to sell your work there. I don't think I realized how big it was until I got down there from Tennessee.

Can't say I have ever had a worst show. Never been rained out but that is because I have a big gap between then and now, and I'm just starting the show circuit again.

Well, most of you might be saying Wah? Never heard of this one...But there is something to be said for a small show in a town that has seen lots of revitalization in their downtown but not much art happening. This show has gone on for the last 35 years ( I believe) but has always been a mixed bag of art, soap and local jewelry. But It is changing. Yes, some of those items were still there... but there was a new upgrade to fine art that was appreciated and…

I haven't written a review in quite a while......Things have been busy and I have been on the road way too much.....as all of you know the drill. But I thought I would review a show I did for the first time last weekend in Memphis, a place I haven't seen too many reviews from and this show was not the easiest to get a read on beforehand. Fairhope......Art Fun in the Deep South for some!

It was the 65th year of the  Fairhope Arts Festival this past weekend. In a cute suburb of Mobile Alabama, the show hosts 236 artists throughout the town's main cross streets. It's 300 dollars to participate with a prize chest of over 10 thousand dollars. The show is a three day event that starts at ten each day and ends at 6 on Friday and Saturday and then on 5 on Sunday.

Load in on Thursday at 6 pm was pretty uneventful and was easy to maneuver as was load out. The show is set up in…
