You may have noticed occasional disgruntlement with members (usually, but not often, new members) who ask questions before searching existing comment threads for an answer. This is actually pretty typical of online forums, as you surely know. Here's a solution, if the tool enables you to implement it:
Context: Member clicks appropriate function to post a discussion item or blog.
Tool action: Tool presents a popup window: "Did you know you can search by keyword to see if your question has already been answered? Type keyword(s) in the Search window at the top right (don't enter quote marks)."
Include in the popup window a check box: "Don't show me this again"
