Sandra Forrest replied to Kristen Nazzaro's discussion Business requirements for shows - please help!
"You need to have a tax resale number from your state. Some shows (most?) require that and have proof with you at the show. It's easy to make your company name official for that. Go to your city hall. You will then have to file sales and use tax…"

Sandra Forrest replied to Raoul Duke's discussion Virus vs Art show. Will they show up?
"I did a big Sugarloaf show in Edison, NJ over the weekend. It was too late to cancel. Disaster. Didn't even make the booth fee, which I usually do {first time doing this show, however}. Sparse attendance, but due to the virus? "

Sandra Forrest replied to Susan Hohman's discussion Tell me everything about Mesh panels.. good -bad???
"I have used Flourish mesh panels for years and many shows, indoors and out, with success. They are easy to hang and square. When I had a Flourish tent they were the sidewalls for hanging art. Now I have an EZ Up and I use them on free-standing…"

What are the best things about art fairs
talking to customers
Best show ever and why
Holiday Crafts at Morristown New Jersey).
Big sales!
Worst show ever and why
Several terrible shows, but the standout was two Spring Crafts at Lyndhurst shows (Tarrytown, New York). in both it just poured freezing rain in torrents. I was in a booth in a huge tent the second show and they had to close the show on the first of three days after 2 hours since rains was flooding the booths. Expensive disaster.
Who referred you to ArtFairInsiders.com? Please be specific.
Another artist, can't remember who.
What is one fun fact about yourself?
I originally showed only translucent glass mosaics, but have been evolving into ceramic boxes with mosaic and ceramic embellishments since they sell much faster than the mosaics and I can make the booth fee with them.
