Could use your input: Art City in Austin or Mainsail in St. Pete

Started Jan 15, 2013 0 Replies

I have to make a decision between doing Art City Austin and Mainsail in St. Pete. Both are far drives, with Austin much further. Being a western Music City, I think my work would go over really well…Continue

Banners of your artwork as part of your display

I've seen some artists at artshows hang what look like vinyl banners in their tent to showcase their artwork. Where do you make them? I've looked at Kinkos but don't like what I see. Any suggestions…Continue

What's the best art/craft show in Nashville?

Posted on October 5, 2010 at 9:20am 1 Comment

I've seen a few listed: TACA has one in spring and fall, and there's the American Artisan one. Can someone share their experiences with these? It's at least an 8 hour drive for me and I'd love to get an idea for which one I should shoot for.

Have any experience with e-commerce art sites?

Posted on August 11, 2010 at 12:08pm 6 Comments

I was just checking out It's a juried application, if you're accepted they want $300 for membership, and take 50 percent of the sale. They don't promise you that you'll be in their catalogue, which is mailed to 1.5 million households, but they say they spend a lot on marketing the work and pushing out emails. I'm leery. Anybody ever try any of these art websites and have feedback they can share?

Thanks. Pete
