Best show ever and why
When I first started in this industry I rolled the dice and did a rather commercial show in Denver, CO and had a five figure show. Who knew?

Hello, All:

I have pondered about this show for a couple of years and I have heard good and bad things about this event (just like any other, right?)  Can anyone offer info:  attendance, buying energy, etc.?  Is it worth a 7 hour drive?  Any input will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Hello, All:

I just received an application to this event and see that they have indoor spaces (with air conditioning!).   Does anyone have any comments about this show?  High end?  Low end?  Attendance?  Worth it?

Thanks in advance - and Happy New Year!

Does anyone have any comments regarding this Spring show?  I know their Christmas show has a lot of buy-sell and I did well there many, many years ago in the handcraft section; however, I know nothing about the spring show.  How does it compare to the May show in the park?  Any input will be greatly appreciated.

PS:  Happy New Year to everyone.  I'm hoping it's a good one!

Good Afternoon,

I have exhibited at West Hartford for many years.  There have been many changes recently which can go either way.

Location: downtown West Hartford, upscale and redone.  People do have money, don't come out if weather is bad.  Last 3 years, weather bad.  The show is on the town green, the outside spaces you can carry merchandise from side walk, other wise you have to dolly. Not the worse setup but it can be a little hilly.   Show is stretched out and in part of parking lot.  Rest of parking lot has sponsors, lots of them, lots of food and a small carnavil for the kids. Exhibitor parking is assigned depending on where you booth is located. Usually close by.

Sunday morning there is a road race and the show does not start until noon. You can set up on Friday after 5pm.  If there is bad weather this show can get hit,  It's like a wind tunnel. Almost all booths are on grass. I feel the spaces on the side walk are the best.

The quality has changed over the years.  Very few artists (2D) and lots of jewelry.

Buy sell is getting in. The quality runs the gambit.  From really good to buy sell.  If you decide to do the show you do not want to be in the last row, corner of Burr St and Main St.  I was located on the corner which was a great space for me with my garden art  and copper sculptures but not for anyone else around me.

I am not going to do the show this year because I was not happy with the weather and quality.  You can stay in Farmington, Priceline and a short drive. Be careful if you do decide to do the show, don't stay in Hartford or close to the expo center. The neighborhoods are really unsafe.

If your expenses won't be too bad and you can send out a mailing list, I would say it's worth a try.  There will be a lot of families and children at the show.  they seem to come for the day.  Please let me know if you need any other info.
