Salado Wildflower Art Show

My acceptance rate hasn't been so great this season, but at the same time I don't want to jump in and drive three hours for a show that isn't worth it.  Does anyone have any info on The Wildflower…Continue

I see some good things about this show, and plan to apply this week.  I was wondering if I should go for an indoor space though as this will be in may and the heat should be starting to rise by…Continue

I had asked my neighbor(who was kinda a big mouth with an opinnion on everything...so don't know what to think) what he thought of the Fall show as the Shrimp Festival was easily the best show I did…Continue

Just wondering if anyone had any thoughts on this show...  My wife had done it back 4-5 years ago when we were first starting out and haven't touched it since...was told it was a very off year.  So…Continue

Best show ever and why
Sailfish Marina Sunset Festival - $50 a week for 3 hours and rake in lots of cash. Just wish I still lived nearby to do it.
Worst show ever and why
Sunfest 2007...first show and almost my last. Poored during breakdown while I went to get the car and flooded the sidewalks. Didn't do bad for my first show in sales but lost all of my larger inventory at the end.

Hi Matt, Welcome to Art Fair Insiders.  You found a great place for information of all kind and a place to make new friends.  Love your pictures.  I used to live in Lakeland so some of your pictures brought back happy memories. I love to take pictures of animals also, they are so fascinating to me.  So happy to have you join us here, Take care,

Sabrina

Fayetteville is small show but good buyers.  Definitely better outside with tent.

Matthew, you asked about the Salado show.  I've done the show two times but none in the past year.  The first show was in August which was brutally hot but I think they've moved that event to later in the year (October???).  I did around $600 at that show and at the time most of my work was in framed format.  I went back to another show in the following spring and did about $425 in sales and my format was mostly canvas.  The entry fees are low and it was close (about 30 miles from my home which meant expenses were minimal) but even so, for me the sales did not justify returning. I hope this gives you some help in making your decision on the trip.

Regards

Tom
