Not sure I understand your question(s).
You are saying there is not enough time between acceptance to a show and having the work ready to sell? I think how most people handle this is to always have pieces in the pipeline. What is not…"
"I am a artist who had this problem.
I found a way to laminate the canvas to wood substrates.
Most of my art is very large, like yours 4' x 8',DSC01378.JPG and is laminated after the art is painted on canvas.
If you like you can email me…"
My son and daughter-in law bought 2 large unframed abstract paintings. They were planning on mounting them themselves. When I saw the size of them unrolled, I told them this was going to be harder than they thought. Based on my having to stretch canvases back in college: I know it’s not easy to get canvas taut and unwrinkled on stretcher bars. And these canvases are already painted, so no sizing is possible like you can with raw canvas.I told them I would try to find someone to do it. If you…See More
"Bummer. I was going to say E-6000. I don't know what overall joint strength you need, but maybe a silicone adhesive [vs. a sealer]. Good luck, and please share with us what you find.
"If it's truly a blind jury, why are all old artists consistently getting in? You'd think it would be the best work getting in regardless of history.

The art supply store I bought it from said no water based glues because the surface is plastic. So the foam from one strip will be contacting the glue. From what I read, a solvent based glue may then dissolve the foam. So, what I found on a google search (recommending water-based glues like wood glue) conflicted with what the dealer said. Glue gun? Liquid nails?…See More
Hi, Linnea! Connie suggested I leave a comment for you... Coming from the Chicagoland area, what do you know of the Deerfield Festival of Arts in Deerfield, and the Naperville Women's Guild's Art Show? Both of these are on the weekend of June 4-5... Have you done either of these or heard good/bad info on them? Coming from Central Illinois, I know both areas are good areas, but I'm having a hard time finding any reviews on either show. Any thoughts or comments would be most appreciated! Many thanks in advance, then, for your time and efforts!
Thank you for your response. I have realized from perusing this site that there are just so many issues that I have never considered. I appreciate the advice from all of you who have been in the business.
Hi Linnea! I was looking for information about Artfest Midwest, and saw your post about booth recommendations. Since you did the show last year, do you have any booth location recommendations?
Hi Linnea...I'm exhausted tonight. I will call the hotel and see if they will accept your name instead of mine. It's a Country Inn and Suites which are nice. I'll get it done by 10:30 central time. Call me! 770 843 4604
