Colorado Events: Mile High Bazaar & 16th Street Fair, Denver

Hi Everyone, need your help, especially those who live in and/or have done Colorado shows.  I was searching for shows that are listed as happening this summer and came across Colorado Events: the Mile High Bazaar in mid-July and 16th Street Fair 7/31 & 8/1, both in Denver.  I couldn't find any recent reviews, although the older reviews I found don't say anything good.  I finally heard back from Steve, the promoter, accepting me into both events (& this was after I pretty much decided,…See More

"Hi Jason - that's sad, it sounds like a great arrangement except for the timing.  Etsy sends out payments once a week, on Mondays.  I suppose the printer wouldn't want to take the chance on an order being cancelled before payment…"

What are the best things about art fairs
Overall, its gratifying to talk with people and see/hear their appreciation of my work, even if they can't afford to buy. I've got a regular following and its always fun to see my regulars at the shows, so I guess for me its 1) the people and 2) the sales.
Best show ever and why
Balloon Fiesta, Albuquerque, NM - best sales ever. Los Alamos, NM are consistently good shows with lots of regulars. Small shows have an intimacy you can't get at a larger show; there's a local November show I do each year because I love the people who host the show.
Worst show ever and why
People's Fair, Denver, CO. Not an art show, but a festival. Put me next to a booze booth and the people manning the booth were so obnoxious, loud and crude, customers couldn't get away fast enough.
Who referred you to ArtFairInsiders.com? Please be specific.
Internet while looking for art show information. I've been reading the newsletters for awhile now.
What is one fun fact about yourself?
No idea. Have always been told I'm "too serious." I can be impulsive, and certainly I have a droll/dry sense of humor which not everyone gets or appreciates. Except for maybe my friend Cynthia, who is a stained glass artist. She calls us "quirky."

Hi all.  I've recently semi-retired from the 9-5 routine & I've been expanding my show circuit to include out-of-state shows.  Before signing up for a new show, I come over to ArtFairs to check out reviews. I've been confused about why some reviews are in the main "blog" section rather than in the "Art Show Reviews," which is where I look first (& have posted a couple of reviews).  I've compared the Blog reviews to the Art Show Reviews and don't see that they have the same posts.  I…
