What are the best things about art fairs: Well organized, advertised & attended.

Best show ever and why: Kentucky Crafted open line of communication w/ artist, well advertised & attended. Also May fest in Tulsa, OK really took care of the artist & was very informative of weather conditions b/c they change so quickly there.

Worst show ever and why: Zona Rosa in KC, MO Made it hard for artist to set up, not understanding of the artist made you feel like a dollar sign & thats it.

All I can say is - keep trying to get in!! I've never applied for it & I don't go every year :-( but it is an awesome show & well attended. You'd fit right in & do very well, I'm sure! Ask Tom Gross what he knows, too; you can tell him I said so. Ironically, with the exception of 2 shows, the Art Guild has totally shut everything down - no exhibits, no gallery, no classes, bare-bones staff - until they get their funding straightened out. They mostly operate thru membership fees, grants & (corporate) donations, & the money just hasn't been there as in past years. I doubt they'd ever give up the fall show, though, unless they were truly desperate. So hang in there! :-)
