Best show ever and why
Florida Folk Festival. The Florida Folk Festival, a three-day celebration of the music, dance, stories, crafts ( reflecting Floridas heritage ) and food that make Florida unique. From Irish fiddle tunes and kumquat pie, to the wide varieties of music brought by immigrants, the state’s cultural heritage reflects the lives of generations of Florida families and communities. Throughout the Memorial Day weekend more than 300 performances give voice and meaning to Florida’s heritage.
I like your work. Good feel.
We haven't done a lot of NC shows, but would recommend Carolina Craftsman's shows (even tho' we no longer do them because we're contemporary artists). Your work would sell well there I think.
They have shows in Greensboro, Columbia, Richmond, etc.
Don't know about Lazy Days, haven't done it. There's Belle Chere in Asheville in July. Art In The Arboretum in Greensboro (1st weekend in Oct)
is a good local show. If I think of something else, I'll let you know. Best of luck. Hope to see you on the road.
Bob: Thanks for your email. I'm on my way out the door to the Buyers Mkt in Philly. I'll give this some thought.
I am a member of the Southern Highlands Craft Guild. They have magnificent shows but you do not fall into the area required to be a member.
Wood and jewelry are such different mediums. I don't do any shows in North Carolina unless they are very close to home. I'll give it more thought and ask some of my wood friends what they recommend.
All the best, Q
We are sorta new to the business, so don't know too much. We had a really good time at the Dogwood Festival (late April) in Fayetteville last year, and I just noticed that that festival was "runner up" for best festival in NC/SC last year.
Hey Bob, sorry it took me a while to get back to you....
Anyway, you were asking me about good nc art fairs to do and well, I don't know that is a question I have asked as well. The only one I know of around me is the Whalehead Club show in Corolla. Anyway, I will keep you posted about any that I find out about!
Thanks for the invite Bob, but we are Connecticut Yankees. We did just do the Southeastern Wildlife Exposition in Charleston, SC but won't be doing it again. It wasn't a match for us. But in general, the Carolinas seem to be much more art/craft friendly than is CT, but we have no plans to move soon. Course if this snow continues much longer, that could change. Good luck with your group!
Hi Bob, I really don't know much about NC shows because my jewelry is too contemporary for most of them and I end up traveling. There are probably some good shows for you near asheville and you might want to try centerfest which os now on zapp. Welcome to NC, Michele
