Call for Artists, Making Money at Juried Art Fairs, Craft Shows and Festivals
On Sunday, as I made the rounds of all the artists at Art on the Lawn, I had some interesting conversations on the subject of art fairs and festivals that include other things. We all know that the…Continue
This is not strictly an art fair issue, but it concerns artists in general, especially in economically depressed cities such as the Midwestern one where I live.I'm an officer on the board of a local…Continue
I've scoured the Internet looking for a source for battery powered clip on lamps for ProPanels, and have had little luck. The Rockford Art Guild, of which I'm now president, has 20 knockdown…Continue
I'm on a rant this morning. If this is you, please don't be offended, be educated. If it's not you, bless you, on behalf of all show directors. Every year, as the applications for the shows I direct…Continue
Hi, my name is Barbara Berney. I'm a digital collage artist, jewelry designer and art show director, arts advocate, graphic artist, editor and writer. I'm also the president of the Rockford Art Guild. My work is represented regionally in Illinois and Wisconsin by five galleries, and I still exhibit regularly.
I manage two annual regional shows in Rockford, Illinois. Art on the Lawn at Rockford College is held the second Sunday in June. The Rockford Artists Fair, now in it's 40th year, sponsored by the Rockford Art Guild is held the third weekend in September in beautiful Beattie Park downtown along the river.
I'm always interested in hearing from artists about what they like to have in a show and what they think makes a great show. I take my role as the show director seriously, and my goal is to make my shows the best they can be, kinda like the Army.
Send me a message or post a comment. I'd love to hear from you!
