What are the best things about art fairs
I have only participated in one show, but I really enjoyed the people! Both customers and other vendors. I offer a lot of urban city shots and landscapes. It was great to hear customers talk about their experiences and memories from some of the places in my images.

A Big Thank You to Art Fair Insiders Members--new, and what I have learned!

Posted on August 18, 2014 at 8:00pm 5 Comments

I am half way through my second year of participating in Art Fairs and thanks to all of the suggestions and Art Fair critiques each show I have done this year I have been in the "black".  Last year I was fortunate enough to "break even" (booth fee, gas and food) at each show and considered it a "learning year".  Following are my learnings from last year and how I adjusted this year with great results.

- Research the shows that are a "fit" for your work.  Because I still work…

"How Bazaar Jackson" First Year Event – Jackson, MI August 9 – 10

Posted on August 12, 2014 at 6:50pm 6 Comments

This first year event took place in my hometown of Jackson MI and was a combination of Fine Art, Taste of Jackson (restaurants) and a Run or Dye run. The fair took place in downtown Jackson on Michigan Ave which is a very wide street with plenty of room to set up. This was a juried event with a $35 application fee through ZAPP and a $100 fee for a 10 x 10 space. A $5,000 1st place, $2,500…

Art-A-Licious, Adrian MI 2013-Wonderful Way to Finish the Summer!

Posted on September 23, 2013 at 8:49pm 3 Comments

Art-A-Licious was the last Art Fair that I participated in this summer as I "tested the waters" to see if this is something that I would like to do.  And I have to say if I had any doubts, participating in the Art-A-Licious fair clinched it with a huge "YES"!

I enjoyed all of the fairs I participated in, but there was something about this fair that left me feeling like I could jump in the car next weekend and do it all over again!

Being new to this type of business I always…

Monroe Fine Art Fair (Michigan) August 10 & 11 2013 - Still Loving Art Fairs

Posted on August 20, 2013 at 8:22pm 5 Comments

Hi all, I am a "newbie" to the Art Fair world and the Monroe Fine Art Fair was my second fair that I have done and I am "still loving it!".  I only made $130 which covered my entry fee, but my objective for my first year is to 1) decide if I really like doing this and 2) if the answer is yes, keep learning, learning and more learning.

Both objective were met, but before I tell you about that, let me give a little bit of a critique of how I felt about the way the fair was…
