I've got 8 sand bag tent weights made by Flourish-- each can weigh up to 40 lbs with sand or gravel-- that I don't need any longer. If you're willing to pay postage you can have them. If anyone is…Continue

i just got back from an art fair road trip to find this beautiful canteen made and donated to the AFI drawing by Richard Sherer.  Which, obviously, I won.  Though I live in Kentucky I don’t own a horse, so this guy will hang in my studio.  It’s beautifully crafted and a true piece of art. Many thanks to Richard for his generosity and to Connie for her incredible resource, AFI.  AlSee More

A Bad Year?

Posted on July 10, 2017 at 10:39pm 23 Comments

Just got home from Krasl, my 7th show of the year. A great spot for an art fair, a little resort town on Lake Michigan, beautifully run, so it feels more like being on vacation. Easy. Got off to a great start on Saturday but then things fizzled out so my sales ended up being just adequate. Like most of 2017. 4 Bridges in Chattanooga (okay), Southlake in Dallas (hideously bad), Three Rivers Pittsburgh (an okay profit but not worth 5 long days in a difficult show), Old Town Chicago (horrible… Continue

A Tale of Two Cities

The following should be taken with a very large grain of salt. Better yet maybe an entire salt block because my impressions couldn't come from a place of less experience. I'm about to report on the first two art fairs that I've ever done.

I got my initiation in Greenville SC at Artisphere, weekend before last. Greenville has a beautiful and vibrant downtown and booths are set up in a long line down both sides of picturesque Main Street. This set up made for an easy load in (even…
