Call for Artists, Making Money at Juried Art Fairs, Craft Shows and Festivals

I am having a hard time getting good photographs of my paintings.  what does everyone else do when it comes to pictures of your art?

I have submitted pictures of my art for some shows and don't feel that they are representing my artwork fairly.

My wife has a Nikon DS300 and i cant seem to get the setting correct or lighting or something.  they always come out gray or too much of one color and not the rest.  very frustrating!!

any tips or contacts to get good pictures would be helpful.

Thanks!

Why not show us one or two of your attempts?

A lot of what you may think is difficult to photograph or may be off color may only need an adjustment in color and contrast to correct.

The easiest way to take the pictures is to make sure there is even lighting on the entire painting and use a gray or white card next to the painting for a color reference to correct the image afterwards. Remember, no image is perfect out of camera. Every image needs to be corrected in an editing program afterwards.

Those two images you posted are too small to evaluate and not labeled which is correct.
