Digital Cameras

I am in need of purchasing a new digital camera in order to take photos of my paintings.  I have a 4 mp and know I need to upgrade.  At this point I am not looking at a SLR Digital unless that is the only logical option.  Does any one have a digital camera suggestion that will give me the ability to adjust ISO speed, white balance, etc. in order to take images of my work and then have them enhanced for the jury process.

  • Thanks Larry.  I read  your tips on shooting for jury images.  I was planning on sending my images to you to be photoshopped and enhanced.  I live in Kansas so having you do the whole process is too cost prohibitive when you start shipping paintings that are 30 x 40.

  • Any camera at least 10 or 12 megapixels will work. You are the only limitation. Low ISO, set the zoom in the middle to minimize distortion and use a tripod. For lighting, try shooting under your canopy on a bright cloudy day.
