Art Fair on the Square, Bloomington, Indiana easy to get to, easy to set up, responsive and attentive organizers, appreciative customers, repeat customers
Worst show ever and why
A show where the organizers did not follow through on promises, never came around to check on vendors, moved people without regard for their needs, grouped same type vendors together, were very defensive when vendors went to them to negotiate changes, and threatened vendors when problems were brought to them.

HI Kathleen! I did the same show the year before. They had so much jewelry that I felt it wasn't worth going back. This year I may do it but I may try painting. I'm really considering making a switch in a couple of years.
It was so hot when I did the show I ended up standing in a large bin of water with ice in it. They next year a older friend of mine says she had a heat stroke from the show.
The boys were wonderful though. I have had many shows that SAY they have help but these guys really were help. And I have VERY fond memories of sitting at the tables by the big house when the neighborhood people were bringing steaming plates of food to breakfast. Wow! talk about southern hospitality!
I also talked to the organizer about not having so much jewelry. I told her I was a grown up and didn't get into every show I applied to and would rather not do a show than pay for a booth where I had little chance of making my money back. We had a very nice and frank talk about shows and I told her things from my perspective that she hadn't thought of. I think like many smaller shows they just jury to make sure your stuff is handmade.
Anyway I am from Louisville and have recently moved back (from North Carolina) to help my Mom.
So at the moment I'm not doing many shows more than 4 hours away, and not doing any realy long.. four day shows. I am familiar with most shows around here so If you have any questions... Ask away!
