Trimline Mesh Panels vs. Propanels

Hello, I just had my EZ up tent collapse at the Akron Hardesty Park show last night in a torrential downpour. The gods were watching out for me though, because none of my work, miraculously, was damaged. So I tomorrow am buying a Trimline for sure. My question is, for displaying my photographs, is it acceptable or a good idea to buy Flourish's mesh panels, or is it necessary to buy Propanels? I currently am using metal grids, that are going the way of my tent (the dumpster). I just don't know if I'll have room in my compact SUV for the Propanels along with everything else. (Jim Parker, I just reread your post for newbies from November. I don't have an Element, but close) :)

Thanks in advance for your help.

  • Looking to buy either a Trimline or a Showoff. The Showoff looks so much easier to put up. Does anyone have one? Thanks.....
  • Glad to know about the black mesh panels! I just bought (in January) a used white set from an artist in California; had I known these were in the pipeline I might have waited. They really look nice.

  • thanks for the comments, Jane. I'm hoping the mesh walls work out for me.

  • We always used the mesh walls until last year. We found used pro panels. I started seeing in the instructions for different shows that the walls had to be carpeted walls. With the mesh you get a breeze and mire light. Sometimes I feel that the panels make my booth really dark.
  • Thanks Mary! Your booth looks great! I think I have decided to go with the black mesh walls. It fits both my budget and the size of my car right now, and will be a greatly improved look upon what I had before. thanks for your help.

  • P.S..I meant to add too that my original propanels are just the 6' high ones as my last SUV was smaller and I too started in a EZ up.  Now I have the 18" extenders on the tops.  So if space is a huge issue this is another way to work this out.  I have used a craft hut tent for a number of years but upgraded to this Trimline just this season

  • I just recently bought one of the new black mesh walls!  They 981298371?profile=RESIZE_1024x1024I just recently bought one of the new black mesh walls!  I too drive an SUV and need every square inch available.  You can see it in this photo on the right side.  One side of it has the mesh the other is a some-what see-thru light fabric.  It lets some light through while keeping it a cleaner look then the see-thru white mesh.  I have kept some of my pro-panels in the mix because of the smaller works especially because you will have to be straightening constantly otherwise.  Just wanted to show you what a combination looks like.

  • Thank you again, Leo. I saw that now Trimline offers black mesh as well. it has a black fabric backing for opacity. that might be another option.

  • No,  the art work remained secure on the wall but there was some tilting whenever the wind blew. You're constantly leveling your pieces. When I hung the frames, I secured each frame with 2 "s" hooks that fit in the holes of the mesh (the mesh is strong and the "s" hooks never harmed the mesh, even when hanging large pieces.) You can purchase these at any hardware store: http://www.lowes.com/ProductDisplay?partNumber=445817-37672-320236&...

  • Leo, this is extremely helpful. Thank you very much. It's true, I have to weigh all of the pluses and minuses. Cargo space is definitely an issue for me. I like the movement of the air through the booth plus, but the minus you mention of the art moving: did you ever have artwork fall off the walls?
