The V word

The V word has been becoming the promoters favorite word and to me it means a Tupperware sales person. I don’t understand why they can’t use artist or artisan that is what we are. I have noticed one thing that shows that use that word is usually the kind I want to stay away from because I feel they just want to sell space and do not care who they have in their shows.

  • I'm a painter and have crept cautiously into art fairs. I find it extremely difficult to find shows that are primarily artists and not just crafts and food trucks. Nothing against crafts but I don't want to be the only painter there either. I look for reviews but there are not very many out there and often only saying I sold big or didn't sell well which is of limited use all and all.  Clients that buy paintings are often a different crowdt than clients buying cutting boards or the like. No offense it's just a little different and a different price point too.
