The Art of the Educated Guess

"Setting up an art fair scheduled should be referred to as  "The Art of the Educated Guess".  You have to decide which shows to apply to.  You have to decide which images to send.  Once you have your acceptances you have to decide which shows to actually participate in.  Each of these decisions is based on so many factors that you can never have enough information about that they are really guesses, hopefully the educated type."

  • Yep, writing is very freeing. Doing the fun stuff we love is what it's all about. I worked on four new pieces today and it feels great!!!
  • Thanks for all the compliments!  I find that when I start obsessing about the business I feel better after I write about it.  It frees me to get on with the fun stuff.

  • Best of luck to you, Amy!!! I loved your blog it is so similar to the thoughts I have had about getting ready for show season. I think a lot of this comes down to a series of educated guesses and hope. I have done all I can to present myself as well as I can and the rest is up to the universe, fingers crossed, candles lit, prayers said!!!!! There are so many things for us to consider when mapping out a show schedule and trying to make a profit so we can keep on trucking!!!! I think your blog nailed it and by the way, love your pieces and your booth shot is fierce!!!!
  • Yup, but it's interesting to me to deconstruct it.

  • Amy, I think we make educated guess all day long.  We make a decision and hope for the best.
