  • Sevefral ways, engraving tools, flex shaft, inlay it, or easiest is using a scribe. In my studio I use a sharpened diamond point scribe, at shows I take a carbide scribe, which works well on aluminum and stainless. Diamond is best for 18kt, carbide works on sterling, steel is best for 24kt and fine silver. A flex shaft with diamond tools works best on gemstones; engraving tools take some (years) practice to master

  • For soft metals, a signature stamp can be laser cut accurately Mine has letters about 1/16"high and is accurate.
