Securing art work to panels

Hello;

I am new at this, and have a question. I am in the process of purchasing a tent for my shows, and notice that display panels come in both mesh and fabric backing. Which one is better for hanging artwork (stretched framed canvas') and HOW do you attache the art to the panels? Thanks

  • C.C.         Get A 1/2 inch wood dowell rod and put a groove in the end.  Just push the drapery hooks and  save your fingers.  A wrist strap is also nice to add.

  • Drapery hooks work well in the carpeted (ProPanel type) display panels too, but they can be very hard on your fingers and if you need to move them multiple times in the carpet, they're really a pain.  I switched to the prohanger velcro tabs mentioned by Alison several years and love them.  The only downside (but worth it to me) is that the velcro can 'fuzz up' the carpet on your panels a bit.

  • Thanks so much Alison and Mike..

  • Mesh walls and drapery hooks work well for us - 36x48 framed stretched canvas is the biggest we've hung to date with no problems. We just use multiple hooks (5 in this case) to spread the load.

  • I have carpeted walls which means velcro is my best friend.  I used the little velcro squares to attach my price tags and prohangers (http://www.prohanger.net/) to hang my work.  I also use the hanging system from pro panels to hang the top row.
