Have done this show since the early eighties.

Used to be a strong $3-4K show.

Not anymore, can barely break a grand.

This is a huge college town teeming with young professionals.

You would think they would support the arts.  They do not.

Crafts have a better chance here.

I saw very few 2-D pieces go by this weekend.

You have too many artists for too few buyers.

Do not waste your time unless you live close to it.

  • Sorry @Constance Mettler. I've been reworking EVERYTHING so I 've been off the radar for awhile. I promise to participate going forward!
  • Thanks for your input, Carol. Good to hear from you again.

  • I did this one time, 3 or 4 yrs ago. NO ONE anywhere near me made any sales to speak of. I still run into the jewellers who were across from me there and we just shake our heads. Show doesn't care if artists make money. They win on booth fees and there are always new artists to try it.
  • Yes, once upon a time in America this show was viable but it has been a dead dog since 2003.

  • Yikes! We did this show a couple of times ... a long time ago. First time we won a prize and made decent money. Next time money not quite as good. Third time we were set up across from a barbecue booth with smoke blowing at us all day Saturday ... they let us move on Sunday. Didn't help except we weren't asphyxiated. We drove from Michigan each time with no other shows linked, but were looking for a place to make some money in April, for us always a tough month.
