Lubbock, Tx Art Fair?

I am going to exhibit at the Woodlands Waterway show in Houston April 10th but since I am coming out from California, to maximize my trip, I thought I would apply to other Texas shows around that same time period. I was just accepted to the Lubbock Arts Festival for the following weekend but before I accept, I wanted to check if anyone out there has done this show and what they have to say about it. I could find no blog threads on the site relating to Lubbock. Anybody? Beuller... Beuller...?

  • Thanks for the feedback. I was looking for information on this show as well!

  • I sell jewelry.  I did the show a few years ago, but I heard the same thing from a jeweler who did last year's show (in addition to the Starbirds that Cindi mentions).

  • I would like to hear from 2-D artists about this show.  I'm a printmaker/painter and have retired from all outdoor venues so I'm always on the hunt for a good high quality indoor show.

  • Woodlands was bad for us. The only show we have lost money at. Our jewelry was too creative and weird for them. They loved blue topaz and very mainstream mall looking jewelry. Our location was also an issue. We were separated from the rest of the show behind the hotel. It was quite a distance to the main body of vendors. There's also was a windstorm the year that we were there. We have not returned.
  • I have heard the same comments from other jewelers, Delpfine (Robert and Talley Starbird).

  • Thanks, Delphine. When did you do the show and what do you sell?

  • The Lubbock show was not a good one for me.  I did it once and haven't been back.  There are a lot of people, but they just stream by.
