Just a Monday kind of question....

Hi Guys, Yesterday was Mother's Day and my kids chipped in to give me money to finally get one of those Hollywood padded green show chairs that everyone who has done shows for a while has. I have been sitting on a folding stool (mostly standing-really) and I thought I should finally trade up.The ones on Amazon are 400 dollars and I know there are other options. I have read an older review -so I don't want to beat a dead horse but if you know a better price...I would appreciate it.

  • Excellent quality control Margaret!!!! That is often my quality control process with a painting. If I am not sure if a piece is done I have a cocktail and reevaluate. Works for me:)
  • I took it out of the box and sat in it for about an hour.....made myself a Bloody Mary and dang it- it was just too good....too darn good. I'm keeping it, screw it...I'll fit it in the car somehow....Happy Mother's Day to me. Thanks for everyones input......

  • I do love mine! Having a chair that brings you up to eye level with the customers is a good thing.

  • Vic Edwards is the original maker of the show chair we all are familiar with. i've been usinf mine fr over 20 years and i got it second hand. The BEST !

  • We have the earth chairs too. Have used it for over 5 years and still looks good. We have NO extra space in the truck so a Hollywood chair would not fit. I can grab both chairs with one hand they are so light. Pops open and closed in a second. There is a fold out tray table, side pockets and underneath storage. It can hold everything you need to write up sales including the table. There are 8 legs. This helps with keeping you steady on uneven ground. The chair is high and deep. I am 5'9" and I need a foot stool to be comfortable all day, but I sit more than you do it sounds. The foot bar doesn't come out enough for me. The foot stool is also my tool box and can be used in a pinch for a ladder. The foot stool holds all my crap, paints, zip ties, hooks, etc. http://www.storagewarehouses.net/compartment-c-34_37.html
  • I bought one of those earth chairs for my wife a couple of years ago. She's short, 5'3", and it was not comfortable for her, so we sent it back. They definitely are lighter and more compact than the Hollywood chairs.

  • I just looked at the "Hollywood Chair" everybody is talking about and I prefer the folding tall directors chair on Amazon.  I got the 2 pack since my husband and I both work the shows and they are lightweight and comfortable. I pack everything in a Grand Caravan and it works just great.  Here is the link on Amazon - fairly reasonable I think:   http://www.amazon.com/Products-PROFESSIONAL-Directors-PROTECTIVE-Fo...

  • I've been using a Earth Executive tall directors chair for years and it is fantastic. I had at first looked at the Hollywood chair but I did not like it's bulkiness.

  • Ah, Margaret, enjoy it! It's really GREAT!
