Jewelers Jury Images Used by Another jeweler

Jewelers Jury Images Used by Another jeweler

They say that lightning can't strike twice. Against all odds, for the second time, jeweler Michele LeVett had her jury images stolen and used by another jeweler to apply to shows. Someone saw her images on the Paradise City web site (a show Michele had never applied to) with another jeweler's name.

The exact same thing happened to Michele a few years ago.

The case is still developing. Michele just found out yesterday morning. And she's trying to figure out how the images were taken because some of the images used were not even on her web site.

  • Yes, all show promoters should be made aware of this, especially the Posts at Paradise City. And the person's name needs to get out there.

  • Hey Zargon, The problem is that the images need to be a large minimum size for them to be uploaded for jurying. Probably larger than Michele has on her web site. They probably came from an art show web site that inadvertently put the full size ZAPP images up in their artist gallery.

  • Well, once you put your images "Out There", either online or in print it is an all too easy matter for the unscrupulous THEIF to abscond with them and use them for their own nefarious purposes.

It will probably be economically prohibitive to go after the person in court and hope for a victory or settlement of any kind but seems to me you could file a "cease and desist" order without too much out of pocket.

Of course the avenue that might get some positive results is to gather your "affidavits" and such and send a copy to all the Show producers explaining the moral character of the other person and the way they have illegally used "False Identity" to lie to the promoters and jurors in order to garner a booth in their shows.

Spreading the word here @ Artfair Insiders and using REAL names and FACES could also go a long way to putting this person in their place and forcing them to represent themselves and their work honestly in the future.  (Assuming that they actually can do work and produce art and not just steal everything.)

We'll.. that's the $.02 Cents from the Zargon Gallery!!!

  • When I had brochures available I had my images stolen from someone who "made" a similiar product.  There was not a thing I could do about it.  I hope Michele has better luck than I did.
