Housing in Chicago

Hello everyone, I'm new to AFI, but not to the arts community. I live in Chicago and have been housing arts for over 10 years. During show season, I have accommodated up to 6 guests in a 3bdrm condo. I'm going to list in the AFI classifieds. I'd like some input on what YOU would be looking for in terms of temporary housing during a show. Type of accommodations? Price? Ammenities that are important? Thanks for your help. I hope to meet some of you soon.

  •   Yes I have Jacki.  I have some great stories also.

  • Cynthia, I bet you have made some nice friendships over the years, too.

  • Thanks JR, That's really hepful to know that you think it's a good idea.

  • What a great idea!  My husband and I want to travel and sell my books in other states but can't afford a hotel every night although I would pay something to whoever I stayed with.  I wouldn't expect food just a bed and an easily accessible bathroom.

  • Jacki,

Well Jacki,  I am not a saint.!!  BUT,  I love the energy, I want to support artists , and I have the space.  Not everyone had a private suite, but noone was unhappy. and the interaction was...great!!

    I like doiing it.

  • Oh my goodness, you have opened your home to 6 different artists at once?  You must be a saint.  You could become very popular in Chicago this coming summer.
